We get to pick Spode up earlier than expected!

Steve at Auto Campers needs the space on his forecourt, so unexpectedly we got to pick Spode up before the expected date at the start of June.

We stayed overnight in London, and then made our way out to Reading by train. The morning was spent having a massive tutorial session, and then we were off.

"How about lunch at the Hind's Head?" asked Rog, and by a miracle they had a table.

We bought a camper van!

I suspect everyone does it. You pop along to a massive Camping and Caravanning show at the NEC intending to buy some clever Tupperware or a folding mug, and you leave with a brand new VW camper van. By the way, the van is called Spode because he's our 20th wedding anniversary present (china).

Flynn tries out his new bed

We're glad to report that Flynn seems to like his new Barjo cage. A bit more cramped than the back of the Volvo but it has a very comfy bed.

Our first night in Spode

Our first test night away! We drove all the way to Stalisfield Green to the Plough Inn, which has a certificated location (just 5 vans allowed on a field). We had a lovely meal there, but really didn’t sleep at all well. Both of us were exhausted by mid-afternoon and had to have a bit of a kip.
